How Stop & Shop Is Helping BIG TIME With Our Summer Staycation

Summer is meant for family fun, taking it easy, when you can, traveling, and enjoying the weather while it’s here. 

Over on this front, this is the first true summer we will actually be getting around as a family of 4. Well, of course, we were officially a family of 4 last year, but I was still recovering post baby number 2. I honestly hardly got out much even though I was on maternity leave. 

This year, we are venturing out just a teensy bit more to explore our new state. When we moved in 2017, there was so much going on that we hardly got a chance to get around…and then baby number 2, so yeah! 

Therefore we are officially having a (drumroll please…)…STAYCATION! 

While putting together the plans for our summer, our budget was a major factor because of the aforementioned move, new baby, and, maternity leave.  

Thankfully, our food budget is looking great with the help of Stop & Shop and their great prices and promotions which are going on through the summer. 

All parents know that summertime pretty much equals non-stop snack-a-thons all day, so the grocery bill can get scary quickly. 

Stop & Shop has a ton of fresh veggies and organic grocery staples to help us keep our snacking healthy. What’s best is their pricing as it is competitive (or even better in some cases), than some other grocery stores in the area. 

Using these savings, I’m able to make my summer salads which feature seasonal but sometimes pricey fruits such as mango and watermelon. Both of these fruits were on sale when I was last in store. 

I’m also able to score some of our staple veggies at great prices such as frozen chopped broccoli and organic granny smith apples. Chopped broccoli works so well for little hands and apple slices are great for kids of all ages…even me. Throw some peanut butter on them and we are ready to party.
