Have you ever heard of Lucy and Yak Dungarees? Lucy and Yak is one my favorite fashion finds of the last couple of years.

Lucy & Yak is a unisex clothing brand for those looking for bold, comfortable, prints stylish enough to wear around the house, the garden, or out to lunch with friends. Lucy & Yak truly believes in the comfort movement.

Who is Lucy and Yak? What year did Lucy & Yak start?

Lucy & Yak is a UK ethical clothing brand created by Lucy Greenwood and her partner Chris in 2017 after living and traveling in their van for a while. According to an interview with Lucy Greenwood on The Industry.Fashion, they started selling vintage clothing on Depop for a while with success. After a trip to India, they decided to start creating their own clothes. They looked for a tailor to help them create dungarees (or more commonly referred to as overalls in the U.S.), out of deadstock fabric. These limited runs of overalls (or dungarees), were then listed on Depop and sold quickly. The rest is history.

Most of their designs are months to be created and designed before they are listed for sale. They also use limited prints and fabrics. Lucy & Yak has a commitment to being diverse and size inclusive. The brand is considered an ethical and sustainable as even their packaging is recycled and/or biodegradable.

Should I Size Down in Lucy & Yak?

When I ordered my first pair of overalls and clothing from Lucy & Yak, I was a bit confused and worried that I would order the wrong size. Most of the sizing is in UK sizing.

However, Lucy & Yak provides lots of information for converting international sizing. They recommend measuring yourself to figure out if which of their 2 lengths; Regular and Long.

I wear a 6-8 in U.S. sizes and was advised to purchase a UK 10. I did not need to size down.

I ordered my first pair of Lucy & Yak’s after seeing them on someone that I follow. I immediately loved the colorful prints and comfortable but stylish aesthetics.

I did not have to wear a long sleeve top or anything else under it like their overalls simply because it is a one piece that can be worn alone.

I ordered my regular size per their recommendations which converted into a UK10. The color and quality was beautiful.

One of the pairs of Lucy & Yak overalls that’s on my personal wish list right now is the organic cotton – blackgirlswithgardens. I also love the organic twill – sunflower and organic twill – flower power overalls as well.

The great thing about Lucy & Yak clothes is they are very affordable especially for the quality of the clothes. In general, you can find overalls from $30 (on sale) up to $80-$90. They also sell other clothes such as skirts, tops, shorts, including their original dungaree shorts, bags, and socks.

Conclusion:

Lucy & Yak has definitely become one of my favorite ethical, organic, and sustainable brands over the last couple of years. I absolutely love their prints, and how comfortable and stylish their pieces are. Every time I wear one of their pieces, I get compliments and asked for the name of the brand.

I wear them with plain white sneakers, Birkenstocks, or Converse sneakers. I absolutely recommend them.
