Over the last couple of years, I’ve been talking about less toxic feminine products and why they are so important to switch to. I first spoke about it in depth in my post The Eye Opening Health Facts you Should Know About Your Feminine Products. But, with the increased popularity of non-toxic period products, it can be hard to know which menstrual cups is best. So here is a quick list of a few of the best reusable menstrual cups of 2021.
I’ve also shared about it extensively on my Instagram account @itsmeladyg, and often in my stories.
In my Youtube video above, I share my entire menstrual cup collection. In addition, I share how to remove a menstrual cup along with how to insert one. I also briefly speak about what to do if the menstrual cup is poking you.
Some women are reluctant about purchasing menstrual cups or reusable menstrual pads because they are more expensive than the disposable products on the market.
Being that it’s a one time investment which can be used for between 1-10 years (depending on maintenance), it’s more expensive on the front end, but cheaper in the long run.
I decided to share my personal menstrual cup collection a couple of weeks ago during a virtual event I held called “Cups & Coffee”. It went well and I later shared it on my YouTube channel which you can view by clicking below. At the time of this being published, there were technical issues with loading the video directly on this page.

In the above video, I share my current collection and even cups like the newest from The Honey Pot Company which is super affordable and (at the time of this post being published, it is still available even though many of their other items are sold out. Click here to check out the cup on their site. A full review of the cup will be posted on my blog within the week, so be sure to sign up for my email list below to get it sent straight to your inbox when it’s live.
Here is a rundown of my current collection, my thoughts, and also links to check them out yourself.
#1 Saalt Cups
In the video, I mention that the Saalt Soft cup is my current favorite. I love it because of the comfortable fit and super soft texture. If it’s in correctly, I can’t feel it at all. However, all cups are supposed to be that comfortable as well.
Saalt also has a their main cups which are slightly firmer, but equally as comfortable. Like other companies, they are made in a Regular and Large size. I highly recommend the Duo Pack which includes both sizes so you’re able to pick which one works well for you. I demonstrated all 3 cups of theirs in the video.
Saalt also recently launched menstrual cups for teens. In addition, they also make a line of period underwear to work as a backup to the period cups.

#2 XO Flo Cups by GladRags
I shared the large XO Flo Cup by GladRags was a great option for those who have a heavier flow. I also love how short the stem is on the bottom. However, the lack of a flared top made it get bumped off my list of top cups. However, it is still a great option. Be sure to watch the entire video for more details on the shape of cups and how they can contribute to comfort.

#3 Sustain Cups
Sustain is a brand that actually makes several personal care products including better for your body condoms and organic cotton undies to wear with your menstrual cups. Their undies are actually pretty damn comfy and one of my favorites.
However, as I mentioned in the video, each company makes their cups with different sizes and shapes. I tried the Sustain cup which is shaped nicely, but it was too small of a fit for me. I shared that each company gives guidance on the size one should pick based on your age and whether you have given birth naturally. Being that I’m 38 and have had 2 children naturally, these factors come into play which made this cup not the best, despite how much I loved the shape.

#5 Honey Pot Company Cup
This is a cup that’s fresh on the market. So much so, that I haven’t even tried it yet. I am actually pretty excited to try it out because I like the shape and flare at the top. As much as I prefer a softer cup in texture, I look forward to trying the Honey Pot Co.’s cup despite it being a bit more rigid.
The best thing about the Honey Pot Co. cup is it’s price. At less than $22, it’s one of the most affordable on the market.

In the Cups & Coffee video, I also shared a couple of the least toxic non-cup options that I had on hand. Here’s the links to a couple:
#1 Rael Organic Pads
These are one of the fastest up and coming pads that are made with organic cotton. These can be found in your local Target stores. These are also sold in a subscription pack with other Rael products by Amazon.

#2 Sustain Organic Pads & Tampons
Sustain is another brand that practices full transparency with ingredients right on the label. These are a bit harder to find in stores, but available online.

#3 Honey Pot Co Cups
This has to be THE most popular “smaller” feminine product brands of the moment. After the recent viral Target commercial, the company has literally sold out shelves nationwide. These pads and liner are different than others and not for everyone simply because it uses essential oils right in the pads. It’s a fan favorite amongst those who have suffered from feminine issues in the past. I have yet to do a formal review on this, but it is coming. I love the transparency in labeling as well.

I also use cloth pads, but that will be saved for another day. I am also reviewing other products in the near future and will share more on those.
